Anthropology in the Bible The study of the human and of human society explored and explained by Rabbi Hillel Athias-Robles, Assistant Rabbi, Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue, studying for a MSc in Social Anthropology at UCL. When anthropology began to take shape as a science in the 19th Century, scholars found many similarities between the practices and taboos they found in traditional societies in Oceania, Africa, and Native America and those described in the Bible. Rabbi Hillel examined biblical taboos and practices and the ways anthropologists have understood them to this day. Held at Emmanuel Church Africa Lounge, High Street, Northwood, Middx HA6 1AS
